- The office of High Sheriff of Powys was established in 1974 as part of the creation of the county of Powys in Wales, replacing the shrievalties of the amalgamated counties: High Sheriff of Montgomeryshire, High Sheriff of Radnorshire and High Sheriff of Brecknockshire. La fonction est pour la première fois exercée par Francis Amcotts Wilson, nommé le 26 mars 1974 pour l’année 1974-1975. Peter Ronald James est le haut-shérif du Powys pour l’année 2021-2022 à la suite de sa nomination le 10 mars 2021. (fr)
