Αναφέρεται ότι το συνέγραψε «Ανώνυμος ο Έλλην» και εξέδωσε ο ίδιος στην Ιταλία, χωρίς να αποκαλύπτεται το πραγματικό όνομά του. Το κείμενο φέρει όλα τα χαρακτηριστικά του ευρωπαϊκού ριζοσπαστικού ρεπουμπλικανισμού, αντιμοναρχικού, και κριτικού έναντι των υπαρχόντων κοινωνικών δομών και συνθηκών. Εκτυπώθηκε ως έντυπο μικρών διαστάσεων πιθανώς για συνωμοτικούς λόγους. Το κείμενο βρίθει ανορθογραφιών εσκεμμένων και συστηματικών, καθώς ο συγγραφέας προειδοποιεί τον αναγνώστη: «ὅσοι μὲ τὸ συντακτικὸν τοῦ Γαζῆ εἰς τὸ χέρι ἤθελαν κατακρίνει τοῦτο τὸ ἐγχειρίδιον, εἰς οὐδὲν μὲ βλάπτουσι». Κατά τον Ασδραχά, «ο Ανώνυμος έχει εκφραστική δυνατότητα και δυνατότητα να μεταφέρει στα ελληνικά λέξεις που εκφράζουν έννοιες: έχει με δύο λόγια ελληνομάθεια που δεν συμπίπτει με τους ισχύοντες τρόπους ελληνικής σπουδής, μια σπουδή που βασίζεται στο αρχαιοελληνικό κείμενο και στην ελληνικά διατυπωμένη Γραμματική». - Hellenic Nomarchy (Greek: Ελληνική Νομαρχία The Greek rule of law) was a pamphlet written by "an Anonymous Greek" published and printed in Italy in 1806. It advocated the ideals of freedom, social justice and social equality as the main principles of a well-governed society, making it the most important theoretical monument of Greek republicanism. Its author, arguing for both social autonomy and national sovereignty, supported the Greek struggle for national liberation and turned to the moral greatness of ancient Greece in order to stimulate collective pride. Although this work was widely read by Greeks before the outbreak of the Greek War of Independence in 1821, from its first appearance it was received with discomfort by its contemporary audience, and later generated scholarly debates on the identity of its author. Il est signé « Anonyme le Grec » et publié en Italie, sans révéler son véritable nom. Le texte présente les idéaux de liberté, de justice sociale et d'égalité comme principes essentiels d'une société bien gouvernée ce qui en fait le monument théorique le plus important du républicanisme grec. Son auteur, qui défend à la fois l'autonomie sociale et la souveraineté nationale, soutient la lutte des Grecs pour la libération nationale et se tourne vers la grandeur morale de la Grèce antique afin de stimuler la fierté collective.
