Se le atribuye ser una de las primeras coleccionistas en reconocer el genio de Vincent van Gogh, y varios artistas contemporáneos, que afirmó al crear la colección privada de Vang Gogh más grande del mundo. Donó toda su colección a su país junto con una gran finca boscosa en el campo. Hoy es el Museo Kröller-Müller, el jardín de esculturas y el Parque nacional De Hoge Veluwe, el más grande de los Países Bajos. (es)
