- Das Heart of Europe Bio-Crystallography Meeting (kurz HEC-Meeting) ist eine seit 1998 jährlich stattfindende internationale wissenschaftliche Konferenz zum Thema Strukturbiologie, insbesondere Kristallographie. Jedes Jahr treffen sich Forscher von Universitäten, Forschungseinrichtungen (z. B. EMBL, GBF) und Industrie aus Polen, Deutschland, Tschechien und Österreich, um aktuelle Fragestellungen auf diesem Gebiet zu diskutieren. Die Vorträge werden überwiegend von Doktoranden gehalten. Eine Ausnahme ist der eingeladene HEC-Vortrag, der von einem renommierten Wissenschaftler des Fachgebietes gehalten wird. Das Format des HEC-Meetings wurde vom elf Jahre älteren „Rhine-Knee Regiomeeting on Structural Biology“ übernommen. (de)
- The Heart of Europe Bio-Crystallography Meeting (short HEC-Meeting) is an annual academic conference on structural biology, in particular protein crystallography. Researchers from universities, other research institutions and industry from Austria, Czech Republic, Germany and Poland meet to present and discuss current topics of their research. The talks are predominantly given by PhD students (doctoral students). An exception is the invited HEC lecture, which is held by a renowned scientist of the research field. The format of the HEC meeting has been adopted from the eleven years older Rhine-Knee Regional Meeting on Structural Biology. (en)
