- Hans-Georg Aschenbach (Brotterode, 25 d'octubre de 1951) és un saltador d'esquí alemany, ja retirat, que va competir sota bandera de la República Democràtica Alemanya durant les dècades de 1960 i 1970. El 1969 es proclamà campió del món júnior, i el 1971 va guanyar el seu primer títol nacional. El 1972 va prendre part en els Jocs Olímpics d'Hivern de Sapporo. El 1973 guanyà el Campionat del món de vol amb esquís i el 1974 el Torneig dels Quatre Trampolins i les dues proves del Campionat del Món d'esquí nòrdic, el salt curt i llarg. Per aquests èxits fou reconegut com a esportista de l'any de l'any d'Alemanya de l'Est. El darrer gran èxit el va aconseguir als Jocs d'Innsbruck de 1976, on guanyà la medalla d'or en la prova del del programa de salt amb esquís. En aquests mateixos Jocs fou vuitè en la prova del . Poc després dels Jocs es va retirar per passar a treballar com a metge militar i esportiu. El 1988, mentre exercia de metge de l'equip de salts d'esquí d'Alemanya de l'Est, va desertar a l'Alemanya Occidental. (ca)
- Hans-Georg Aschenbach (* 20. října 1951 ) je bývalý východoněmecký skokan na lyžích. Na olympijských hrách v Innsbrucku roku 1976 vyhrál závod na středním můstku. Úspěšný byl i na lyžařském mistrovství světa, kde získal dvě zlata roku 1974 (velký i střední můstek), a na mistrovství světa v letech na lyžích, kde zvítězil v roce 1973. Krom toho v sezóně 1973–74 vyhrál prestižní Turné čtyř můstků. V letech 1971-76 se stal osmkrát mistrem NDR. V roce 1974 byl rovněž vyhlášen východoněmeckým sportovcem roku. Po olympiádě v Innsbrucku ukončil závodní kariéru a pracoval jako armádní a sportovní lékař. Přestože se angažoval ve vládnoucí straně SED, v roce 1988 emigroval do západního Německa. Po sjednocení Německa patřil k prvním sportovcům, kteří obvinili východoněmecké orgány ze státem řízeného systému dopingu ve sportu. (cs)

- Hans-Georg Aschenbach (born 20 October 1951) is a former East German ski jumper. In 1969 he became junior world champion, and two years later won his first national title. He won the FIS Ski Flying World Championships in 1973. In 1974 he won the Four Hills Tournament, and both ski jumping events at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun. Owing to these achievements he was named the East German sportspersonality of the year. He sat out most of 1975 due to a knee injury, but recovered by the 1976 Winter Olympics, where he took the gold medal in the individual normal hill event. Aschenbach retired right after the Olympics to work as a military and sports doctor. In 1988, while serving as the physician of the East German ski jumping team, he defected into West Germany, where he worked as an orthopedic surgeon. (en)

Il progresse rapidement jusqu'à devenir le meilleur sauteur à ski du monde. Il remporte tour à tour les championnats du monde de vol à ski en 1973, la Tournée des quatre tremplins en 1974 et les championnats du monde en 1974 sur petit et grand tremplins. Ses résultats lui permettent de décrocher le titre d'athlète est-allemand de l'année. L'année suivante, une grave blessure au genou interrompt sa série impressionnante de succès. Longtemps incertain, il participe néanmoins aux Jeux olympiques de 1976 au cours desquels il décroche l'or sur le petit tremplin. Il annonce alors sa retraite à seulement 24 ans. Devenu médecin dans l'armée, il renoue avec le saut à ski en dans les années 1980 en devenant le docteur de l'équipe d'Allemagne de l'Est. C'est durant cette période qu'il s'enfuit en direction de l'Allemagne de l'Ouest où il est, depuis, devenu chirurgien orthopédiste. (fr)
