- Els halchidhoma (halchidhoma: xalychidom piipaa o xalychidom piipaash -'gent que viu cap a l'aigua') són una tribu índia que actualment viu majoritàriament a la comunitat índia Pima-Maricopa Salt River, però antigament ocupaven la zona al llarg de la baixa vall del riu Colorado a Califòrnia i Arizona quan va contactar per primera vegada pels europeus. A principis del segle xix, sota la pressió dels veïns hostils mohaves i quechans es van traslladar a la meitat del cabal del riu Gila, on alguns es va fusionar amb els maricopes, i d'altres van seguir a Salt River i mantingueren una identitat independent. El halchidhoma parlaven una llengua yuma. Pertany a la branca del riu de la família yuma, juntament amb el quechan (o yuma), la llengua maricopa i la llengua mohave. (ca)
- Die Halchidhoma waren Indianer des Südwestens der USA und gehörten zur Gruppe der Fluss-Yuma – mit deren anderen Vertretern sie einst entlang des Colorado River lebten.Heute bezeichnen sich viele im Englischen als Maricopa of Lehi, da sie ca. 1825 vor den feindlichen Quechan und Mohave zu den Maricopa (Piipaash oder Pee-Posh – ‘Menschen’ oder ‘Volk’) am Gila River flüchteten und sich diesen anschlossen – sie konnten jedoch ihre eigene Identität bewahren und bezeichnen sich daher als Xalychidom Piipaa oder Xalychidom Piipaash (‘People who live toward the water’ – ‘Volk, das am Wasser lebt, d. h. entlang des Flusses’). Ihre Sprache, das Xalychidoma chuukwer (meist als Halchidhoma bezeichnet) als auch das Piipaash chuukwer, die Sprache der Maricopa, zählen zum Zweig der , die zur gehören, und weist die größten linguistischen Ähnlichkeiten mit Hamakhav, der Sprache der Mohave auf.
