- Lenothrix canus és una espècie de rosegador de la família dels múrids. Viu a Indonèsia, Malàisia i, probablement, Brunei. Es tracta d'un animal arborícola. El seu hàbitat natural són els boscos primaris i secundaris, tant de plana com a les faldes de les muntanyes. Es creu que no hi ha cap amenaça significativa per a la supervivència d'aquesta espècie. El seu nom específic, canus, significa 'canós' en llatí. (ca)
- Die Graue Baumratte (Lenothrix canus) ist eine Nagetierart aus der Gruppe der Altweltmäuse (Murinae). Graue Baumratten erreichen eine Kopfrumpflänge von 17 bis 22 Zentimetern, die Schwanzlänge beträgt 19 bis 27 Zentimeter und das Gewicht variiert zwischen 80 und 275 Gramm. Ihr Fell ist an der Oberseite grau oder graubraun gefärbt, die Unterseite ist weißlich. Diese Nagetiere leben in Südostasien. Ihr Verbreitungsgebiet umfasst die Malaiische Halbinsel, das nördliche Borneo sowie die Insel vor der Küste Sumatras. Ihr Lebensraum sind in erster Linie Regenwälder, sie sind aber anpassungsfähig und kommen auch in Plantagen vor. Sie können gut klettern und halten sich meist auf den Bäumen auf. Graue Baumratten sind weit verbreitet und gebietsweise häufig, die IUCN listet die Art als „nicht gefährdet“ (least concern). Systematisch wird die Art innerhalb der Altweltmäuse in die Pithecheir-Gruppe eingeordnet. (de)

Behalve zijn specialisaties voor het leven in bomen is Lenothrix een van de meest primitieve geslachten van de muizen en ratten van de Oude Wereld, een identiteit die lang verborgen is toen L. canus als een soort van Rattus werd gezien. Kadarsanomys sodyi is oorspronkelijk ook als een ondersoort van L. canus beschreven. Lenothrix is een in bomen levende rat met kleine oren. De wollige rugvacht is grijs tot grijsbruin; de onderkant van het lichaam is crèmekleurig, wit of lichtbruin. De zeer lange staart is in het twee derde deel dat het dichtste bij het lichaam zit bruin; de rest is wit. De achtervoeten zijn kort en breed. Vrouwtjes hebben 1+2+2=10 mammae. Deze soort heeft twee ondersoorten:
