- The Gold Cup is a defunct cup competition which involved competitors from Ireland and from 1921 onwards, just for Northern Ireland. It was initially run by the but later, and mainly, by the Irish Football Association. The competition was first played in the after seven of the eight participating clubs left the IFA (only Linfield remained) after a dispute over money and founded the New IFA. This new organisation introduced the cup as the "New Irish Cup". At the end of the season after many discussions, the dissident clubs returned to the IFA and the tournament was not held in 1912-13. However, it was revived by the IFA in . In the seasons to it was played in a league format. This involved a play-off between the two teams topping the table in the first of these seasons. - La Gold Cup, en anglais The Gold Cup, est une compétition de football aujourd’hui disparue. Elle se tient chaque année entre 1911 et 2001. D’abord organise par une fédération dissidente elle est ensuite reprise par l'Association irlandaise de football. La première édition de cette compétition se déroule au cours de la saison 1911-1912 après que sept des huit membres de l’Association irlandaise de football aient fait sécession (seul Linfield refuse la scission) pour fonder la New Irish Football Association et créer la Gold Cup. À la fin de la saison, les clubs dissidents réintègrent la fédération. La compétition ne se dispute pas en 1912-1913. Elle est restaurée par l’IFA en 1913. Pendant la première guerre mondiale elle se dispute sous la forme d’un championnat. La compétition est définitivement arrêtée en 2001 sur une victoire de Glentoran. (fr)

Dopo la scissione della Repubblica d'Irlanda dal Regno Unito, la competizione venne disputata solo tra i club dell'Irlanda del Nord. La competizione fu disputata la prima volta nella stagione 1911/12 dopo che sette delle otto squadre partecipanti avevano lasciato la IFA (solo il Linfield rimase) per fondare una nuova lega calcistica (New IFA). Questa nuova organizzazione creò la competizione. Alla fine della stagione i sette club dissidenti tornarono nella lega.
