- Sal·lusti o Salusti (en llatí Sallustius o Salustius, en grec, segons diu Suides, Σαλούστιος) va ser prefecte del pretori sota l'emperador Julià l'Apòstata. Probablement és el mateix Sal·lusti que era cònsol l'any 363. Era pagà, però segons diu Teodoret de Cir va influir en l'emperador, del que era força amic, per mantenir la tolerància amb els cristians. Probablement aquest Sal·lusti va escriure el tractat Περὶ θεῶν καὶ κόσμου que encara es conserva. Si és així, se'l considera un neoplatonista. (ca)
- Flavius Sallustius was a career Roman official whom the emperor Julian appointed praetorian prefect of Gaul shortly after he proclaimed himself emperor. Some experts identify him with the Neoplatonist Sallustius. Julian rewarded his loyalty by making Sallustius his colleague as consul for the year 363 AD. G. W. Bowersock explains that Julian left Sallustius in Gaul when he marched out of Gaul to contest the empire with his cousin Constantius II "to ensure the loyalty of the West to the new Augustus." Sallustius played one more part in the life of the emperor Julian. When the emperor was engaged in his final campaign against the Persians, and was supervising his troops preparing to cross the Khabur river, he received a letter from Sallustius begging him to leave off his campaign, "for having not prayed to the gods for protection he was exposing himself to inevitable destruction." This was but one of many inauspicious omens later remembered after Julian's death in combat. It is unclear how long Sallustius held the post of pretorian prefect after Julian's death on 26 June. He is attested in office in September; his successor is not attested as praetorian prefect of Gaul before 18 December of that year. (en)

Fu vicarius Hispaniarum, vicarius quinque provinciarum, prefetto del pretorio delle Gallie dal 361 al 363. Fu amico dell'imperatore Giuliano e gli si è attribuito il breve trattato in lingua greca Perì theòn kaì kòsmou (Περί θεών καί κόσμου, Gli Dei e il Mondo). L'attribuzione non è sicura tanto che si è pensato che l'opera fosse di Sallustio di Emesa, un sofista del V, VI secolo oppure di un Sallustio grammatico o di uno dei due Sallusti vicini a Giuliano il Flavio Sallustio prefetto delle Gallie o Saturnino Secondo Salustio prefetto d'Oriente nel quale G. Rochefort ha riconosciuto il vero autore dell'opera composta fra il marzo e il giugno 362 d.C. (it)
