- Face Up is the fifth album by British singer Lisa Stansfield, released by Arista Records on 20 June 2001. It was her first new studio album since 1997's Lisa Stansfield. Stansfield co-wrote songs for the album with her husband Ian Devaney and Richard Darbyshire. Devaney also produced all the tracks. Face Up garnered favorable reviews from music critics who praised the funky and soul songs and also the adventurous usage of 2-step garage beats in the first single, "Let's Just Call It Love". The disco-flavored "8-3-1", selected as the second single, was withdrawn at the last minute. Face Up was released in Europe and Japan, and performed moderately on the charts reaching top forty in the European countries. Face Up was re-released as a deluxe 2CD + DVD set in the United Kingdom on 10 November 2014 and in Europe on 21 November 2014. (en)

La BMG/Arista, però, farà uscire anche "Biography - The Greatest Hits", la prima collection di brani di successo di Lisa, e ristamperà - sia separatamente che in un'unica "The Complete Collection", contenente circa 100 pezzi, tra cui una quindicina di bonus tracks - i primi cinque album solisti dell'artista (dal disco di debutto Affection del 1989 allo stesso Face Up, compresa anche la colonna sonora Swing, da lei composta per l' indipendente del 1999, di cui è anche la protagonista femminile), in edizioni rimasterizzate in digipak, su ciascuna delle quali vengono aggiunte diverse bonus tracks, prima di lasciarla definitivamente firmare con la ZTT Records/Edel International (con cui realizzerà, comunque, soltanto il suo sesto album, The Moment, e la relativa ristampa, The Moment - Gold Edition, con bonus remixes e sezione CD-ROM con videoclip di 2 dei 4 singoli). Esse foi o último álbum de estúdio da Lisa lançado pela gravadora BMG, a gravadora ainda lançou uma coletânea e um 2 boxes com CDs remasterizados. "Face Up" foi produzido pelo marido e colaborador de Lisa de longa data: Ian Devaney. Grande parte das faixas foram compostas pela dupla. O álbum teve o menor desempenho dos álbuns de Lisa até então, atingindo apenas a posição de # 38 na Grã-Bretanha, onde também, logo após duas semanas, saiu completamente das charts. Dos singles do álbum, apenas o primeiro "Let's Just Call It Love", conseguiu algum sucesso, alcançando a posição de #48 no Reino Unido. O segundo single foi cancelado, devido a falta de interesse do público pelo disco. Em 2003, o álbum foi remasterizado e foram adicionadas mais 3 faixas. (pt)
