- The FA Women's Premier League National Division (originally WFA National League Premier Division) was a football division in England. From 1991 until 2010, the National Division functioned as the top league in English women's football. During its final three seasons, the division operated as the second level of the league pyramid from 2010 to 2013. The division was played on a home and away basis, with each team playing each other twice, and points being awarded in the standard football format. Below the National Division were simultaneously the Northern and Southern divisions and the remainder of the women's football pyramid. The terms Women's Premiership and Ladies' Premiership thus generally referred to the National Division alone. The women's National League Premier Division was conceived as the counterpart to the men's football First Division/Premier League. Founded in 1991 by the Women's Football Association, the league was taken over and renamed "Premier League" in the season 1994–95 by The Football Association. The first title was won by Doncaster Belles in 1991–92. Arsenal hold the most championships, with 12 won between 1993 and 2010. The National Division lost its top-league status and several teams when the FA introduced the summer competition Women's Super League (WSL) in 2011, with no further promotions. 2012–13 was the final season for the Women's Premier League National Division, with the last championship won by Sunderland, their third in succession. - La FA Women's Premier League National Division è stata una divisione del campionato inglese di calcio femminile, posta sotto l'egida della Football Association. Dal 1991, anno della sua istituzione, fino al 2010, è stato il campionato di massima serie. Dalla stagione 2010-2011 ha rappresentato il secondo livello, a seguito della creazione della FA Women's Super League, un torneo di otto squadre con cadenza annuale, disputato tra aprile e settembre. La FA Women's Premier League National Division è stata soppressa nel 2013, prima che venisse lanciata la FA Women's Super League 2, che diventò la nuova seconda serie del campionato inglese dopo la FA Women's Super League 1. Il livello inferiore alla National Division era diviso in due gironi, Northern e Southern Division, ciascuno composta da 12 squadre. - FA Women's National League är en damfotbollsliga i England, grundad 1991. Ligan drivs av The Football Association (FA) och utgör den tredje högsta ligan i det engelska ligasystemet för damer, under FA Women's Super League (FA WSL) och FA Women's Championship. National League består av en övre nivå med två divisioner: National League South och National League North, och en lägre nivå med fyra divisioner: Northern Division One, Midland Division One, Southeast Division One och Southwest Division One. Ligan hette ursprungligen Women's Premier League. Från och med grundandet 1991/92 till och med 2012/13 var ligan organiserad i pyramidform med National Division högst upp och därunder Northern och Southern Division. National Division var den högsta nivån i engelsk damfotboll till 2011, då FA WSL grundades. Efter säsongen 2012/13 avskaffades National Division eftersom FA WSL till säsongen 2014 skulle få en andra division. Efter att under säsongen 2013/14 bara ha bestått av Northern och Southern Division infördes till säsongen 2014/15 en andra nivå i Premier League bestående av fyra regionala Division Ones. Klubbarna i dessa nya divisioner hämtades från ligorna i Combination Women's Football Leagues. Till samma säsong infördes även en playoff-match på neutral plan mellan segrarna av Northern och Southern Division för att avgöra vilken klubb som skulle få möjlighet att gå upp till FA WSL. Detta var första gången som det kunde ske uppflyttning från Premier League till FA WSL. Inför säsongen 2018/2019 skedde en omstrukturering av engelsk damfotboll varvid Women's Premier League bytte namn till Women's National League. Klubbarna i Premier League får delta i FA Women's Cup, motsvarigheten till herrarnas FA-cup. Det finns även en intern cup för Premier League kallad FA Women's Premier League Cup. (sv)
