The European Convention on Extradition is a multilateral treaty on extradition drawn in 1957 up by the member states of the Council of Europe and in force between all of them. The Convention is also available for signature by non-members which as of January 2012 are Israel, South Africa and South Korea. La convenzione è aperta alla firma da parte di paesi non membri del Consiglio d'Europa e, a gennaio 2012 erano già aggiunti anche Israele, il Sudafrica e la Corea del Sud. Prima dell'introduzione del mandato d'arresto europeo, la convenzione regolava l'estradizione tra gli Stati membri dell'Unione europea. Ci sono quattro protocolli aggiuntivi alla convenzione che modificano le condizioni firmate dai singoli Stati. La convenzione è stata ratificata dall'Italia con alcune riserve. (it)
