Així mateix, inclou , del Miocè d'Itàlia, , del Pliocè d'Itàlia, i , del Pliocè de Carolina del Nord (Estats Units). El nom del gènere vivent i, per tant, el de la família, fou elegit en honor del zoòleg danès . (ca)
