- Als Jocs Olímpics d'Estiu de 1976 celebrats a la ciutat de Mont-real (Canadà) es disputaren sis proves d'hípica: doma clàssica, concurs complet i salts, tant en categoria individual com per equips. La competició es desenvolupà entre els dies 23 i 30 de juliol de 1976 al centre eqüestre de així com a l'Estadi Olímpic de Mont-real. Participaren un total de 135 genets, 110 homes i 25 dones, de 23 comitès nacionals diferents. (ca)
- Bei den XXI. Olympischen Spielen 1976 wurden sechs Wettbewerbe im Reiten ausgetragen. In Montréal, dem Hauptaustragungsort der Olympischen Sommerspiele 1976, wurden im Pferdesport nur die Mannschaftswettbewerbe im Springreiten ausgetragen. Diese fanden am 1. August 1976 im Olympiastadion Montreal statt. Die übrigen Reitsportwettbewerbe wurden in Bromont, 70 km östlich von Montreal, ausgetragen. Austragungsort war der Bromont Equestrian Centre, der heute von Roger Deslauriers (Vater von Mario Deslauriers), bewirtschaftet wird. Auch weiterhin finden hier internationale Wettbewerbe in verschiedenen Pferdesportdisziplinen statt. (de)
- The equestrian events at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal included show jumping, dressage and eventing. All three disciplines, except for the Nations Cup, were held at the equestrian stadium in Bromont, which had a capacity of 15,000 spectators, and the cross-country and steeplechase were also nearby. Building this stadium provided some headache for the Organizing Committee after the original estimate of 1 million Canadian dollars increased to CAD 4,425. Poland and Chile were not allowed to ship horses into the host country due to the concern of piroplasmosis, and France and Italy also had to keep some horses home due to veterinary regulations. Overall 23 nations competed: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Canada, Denmark, France, Federal Republic of Germany (FRG), Great Britain, Guatemala, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, the Soviet Union, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay, and the US, with the Montreal Games being the first for Guatemala and Puerto Rico in equestrian events. The 1976 Olympics was also the first Games with a disqualification due to a positive equine drug test, after San Carlos, ridden by Ronald McMahon of Ireland, received treatment following an injury during transport. Although the treatment was needed, the rules did not allow for him to compete. (en)

- Paardensport is een van de sporten die beoefend werden tijdens de Olympische Zomerspelen 1976 in Montreal. Er werden in Montreal 6 onderdelen afgewerkt in 3 categorieën met telkens een individueel onderdeel en een onderdeel voor landenteams: de military, de dressuur en het springconcours. België behaalde op deze Spelen twee bronzen medailles op deze Spelen bij paardensport, een medaille bij spring concours individueel en een medaille bij spring concours teams.Nederland behaalde geen medailles. Większość konkurencji przeprowadzono w Bromont, jedynie finał skoków drużynowych odbył się na Stadionie Olimpijskim w Montrealu. Polacy nie startowali. (pl)
