- Der Enterprise war ein Zilog Z80 basierter Heimcomputer, der erstmals im Jahre 1985 erschien. Es wurden zwei Varianten produziert: der Enterprise 64 mit 64 KB RAM und der Enterprise 128 mit 128 KB. In dem Gerät gab es zwei Koprozessoren für den Sound (Audiochip Dave) und die Grafik (Videochip Nick). Beide Chips wurden nach deren Designern und benannt. Der Rechner hatte einen Z80 CPU mit 4 MHz, 64 KB oder 128 KB RAM und 48 KB ROM, in dem das Betriebssystem und die Programmiersprache BASIC untergebracht waren. Im ROM war zusätzlich ein Textverarbeitungsprogramm eingebaut. Das Gehäuse des Rechners war auf seine Weise einzigartig, da dieses sowohl die Tastatur mit programmierbaren Funktionstasten als auch einen kleinen Joystick enthielt. (de)

The specification as released was powerful and one of the higher end in its class (though not by the margin envisaged in 1983). This was due to the use of ASICs for graphics and sound which took workload away from the CPU, an extensive implementation of ANSI BASIC and a bank switching system to allow for larger amounts of RAM than the Z80 natively supported. It also featured a distinctive and colourful case design, and promise of multiple expansion options. Ultimately it was not commercially successful, after multiple renames, delays and a changing market place. Its manufacturer calling in the receivers in 1986 with significant debt. It was developed by British company Intelligent Software and marketed by Enterprise Computers. Its two variants are the Enterprise 64, with 64 kilobytes of Random Access Memory (RAM), and the Enterprise 128, with 128 KB of RAM. (en)

- L'Enterprise 64/128 est un micro-ordinateur personnel des années 1980. Basé sur le processeur Z80 de Zilog, cette machine n'eut pas le succès que son architecture aurait pu lui laisser espérer. Le projet, démarré en 1982, fut définitivement arrêté pour cause de faillite en juin 1986 après une longue mais inexorable agonie. Il fut commercialisé en France par la société « Lansay ». Les stocks furent écoulés des années plus tard dans les pays de l'Est où Enterprise connut encore quelques années de succès auprès des amateurs de micro-informatique hongrois et tchèques. Les caractéristiques techniques de la machine étaient les suivantes :

Компьютер располагал рядом портов: RGB-выход, последовательный порт RS232/RS423, порт принтера Centronics, два порта для внешних джойстиков, интерфейс для кассетного магнитофона, слот картриджа ПЗУ и обычный порт расширения. Однако, для экономии, некоторые порты не выводились на корпус, а лишь были разведены на печатной плате. Стандартное ПЗУ с Бейсиком могло быть заменёно вставкой картриджа на ПЗУ, эмулирующее ZX Spectrum, что теоретически позволяло запускать на Enterprise тысячи игр, уже имеющихся для Spectrum.
