- Die Futabakai (jap. 双葉会, dt. „Doppel-Blatt-Gesellschaft“) war eine japanische, radikal-militaristische Geheimgesellschaft. Der Name stammt von dem Restaurant in Shibuya in dem sich die Mitglieder allwöchentlich trafen. Die Gesellschaft richtete sich gegen die Dominanz der konservativen Chōshū-Clique in der Führung der Kaiserlich Japanischen Armee. Das Lehen Chōshū war zusammen mit dem Lehen Satsuma die treibende Kraft während der Meiji-Restauration, in der die kaiserliche Herrschaft wiederhergestellt wurde. Prominente Mitglieder der Gesellschaft waren:

* Yamashita Tomoyuki (山下 奉文) Insgesamt bestand die Gruppe am 1. Januar 1929 aus 18 Offizieren der japanischen Armee. Sie setzten sich für die Mobilmachung der Armee und der Durchsetzung japanischer Interessen in China ein, wie der Loslösung der Mandschurei. Am 19. Mai 1929 schloss sich die Gruppierung mit der Kokusaku Kenkyūkai (国策研究会, dt. „Staatspolitikforschungsrat“) zur (一夕会) zusammen. (de)
- The Double Leaf Society (双葉会(陸軍), Futabakai) was a Japanese military secret society of the 1920s. The Futabakai was one of many ultranationalist secret societies in Japan which had arisen within the Japanese military, from the Meiji period through World War II. The Futabakai consisted mainly of mid-level officers (colonels and majors) who had graduated from the Imperial Japanese Army Academy between 1907–1916, who now found their prospects for promotion to the rank of general very slim due to domination of the upper ranks of the military by officers from the former Chōshū domain. Although initially founded to purge the "corrupt" elements out the Imperial Japanese Army, it later became associated with foreign policy issues, and influenced by the writings of Ikki Kita and Okawa Shumei. This historical Futabakai has no connection with the modern yakuza organization based in Fukuoka. (en)
