- The Desiré Delano Bouterse Highway is the first motorway in Suriname between Afobakaweg connecting Paramaribo and Brokopondo to the John F. Kennedyweg near Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport. The motorway opened on 15 May 2020 12:00. A journey from Paramaribo to the airport used to take 1.5 to 2 hours. It is hoped that with the new highway, the travel time can be reduced to one hour. Construction of the road started in November 2017. The highway was named after President Dési Bouterse. The project had cost $60 million. The speed limit will be 80 km/h, and cameras will be placed on the road. (en)
- De Desiré Delano Bouterse Highway is een autoweg in Suriname. De weg loopt tussen de Afobakaweg in het oosten en de Indira Ghandiweg in het westen en werd op 15 mei 2020 geopend. De snelheidslimiet is 80 km/u. Voor de opening van de snelweg duurde een reis van Paramaribo naar het vliegveld 1,5 tot 2 uur. Met de nieuwe snelweg kan de reistijd 1 uur bedragen. De aanleg van de weg begon in november 2017. De snelweg werd op 15 mei 2020 om 12.00 uur geopend, tien dagen voor de verkiezingen, en is vernoemd naar de toenmalige president Desi Bouterse. Het project heeft 60 miljoen Amerikaanse dollar gekost en werd door een Chinees bedrijf volgens Chinese standaarden aangelegd. (nl)
