- Decentraland ist eine dezentralisierte 3D-Plattform für virtuelle Realität, die aus 90.601 Parzellen virtuellen Landes besteht. Virtuelle Immobilien in Decentraland sind NFTs, die mit der Kryptowährung „MANA“ gekauft werden können, welche auf der Ethereum-Blockchain basiert. Immobilenentwickler und andere Akteure investieren in diese in Form von Pixeln bestehenden Parzellen. Ariel Meilich und Esteban Ordano haben Decentraland mitbegründet und sich mittlerweile aus dem Projekt zurückgezogen. „MANA“ wurde im Februar 2020 für die Öffentlichkeit freigegeben und wird von der Decentraland Foundation weiter entwickelt. Die Kryptowährung wies im Dezember 2021 eine Marktkapitalisierung von 7,4 Milliarden Euro auf. Bis August 2022 ist diese auf rund 1,8 Milliarden Euro gesunken. (de)
