- De Groote Peel ist ein zwischen Eindhoven und Venlo liegendes Hochmoor. Es ist Teil eines ursprünglich 30.000 Hektar großen Hochmoores, von dem infolge umfangreicher Meliorationen nur noch zwei Hochmoorreste erhalten sind. De Groote Peel ist der südliche, verbliebene Rest dieses Hochmoors. Im Norden liegt . De Groote Peel wird in den Niederlanden als Nationalpark mit einer Fläche von gut 1400 ha geführt, allerdings entspricht das niederländische Verständnis von einem Nationalpark nicht unbedingt immer in jeder Hinsicht den internationalen Kriterien. Als Naturschutzgebiet ist De Groote Peel bereits seit 1951 ausgewiesen und wurde 1993 zu einem der heute (2022) 21 niederländischen Nationalparks erklärt. Der Park wird jährlich von etwa 100.000 Besuchern besucht. (de)
- De Groote Peel National Park is a national park in the De Peel, a region in the southeast of the Netherlands on the border between the provinces of Limburg and North Brabant. It has a size of 13.4 km² and preserves a peat bog that has remained partly untouched by peat cutting, which used to be extensive in the area. It is one of the most bird-rich areas in Western Europe, with resident black-necked grebes and sometimes migrating common cranes in October/November. The terrain is varied with inaccessible peat swamps, lakes, heath land and sand ridges. The present swamp and some of the lakes were created by the cutting of peat. There is a 3 km-long route guided by red poles with a tower that provides visitors with a view of the wasteland. Care must be taken if leaving the assigned route. The swamps can be treacherous. (en)

Existe un camino de 3 km de largo de recorrido guiado por señales de color rojo con una torre que ofrece a los visitantes vistas buenas del lugar. É uma das áreas mais ricas em espécies de aves da Europa ocidental, com residentes como o mergulhão-de-pescoço-preto e por vezes recebe a migração do grou-comum nos meses de outubro e novembro.
