- Der DOK-ING Loox (ursprüngliche Bezeichnung: „DOK-ING XD“) ist ein Elektroauto des kroatischen Herstellers d.o.o. Der Designer des XD ist Igor Jurić. Der DOK-ING XD musste vom Hersteller umbenannt werden, nachdem sich der japanische Automobilhersteller Mazda die Rechte an der Bezeichnung „XD“ gesichert hatte. Der 2010 gegründete Hersteller DOK-ING Automotiv d.o.o., Tochterunternehmen von DOK-ING d.o.o., stellte erstmals auf der IAA 2011 die beiden Modelle XD2 und XD4 mit zwei bzw. vier Elektromotoren vor. Jeder Elektromotor leistet 45 kW. Die Karosserie besteht aus Kevlar, CFK auf Aluminiumrahmen. Der E-Motor des XD2 soll das Auto in 7,5 Sekunden von Null auf 100 km/h beschleunigen. Die Reichweite mit einer Ladung der Lithium-Eisenphosphat-Batterie soll etwa 250 Kilometer betragen. Das Fahrzeug ist 2,85 m lang, 1,822 m breit und 1,8 m hoch. Das Gewicht ist mit 1200 kg für den XD2 und 1300 kg für den XD4 angegeben. Eine winzige Vorserie des Modells ist 2013 produziert worden. Nach wie vor befindet sich das Modell in der Testphase. Derzeit (2014) sucht der Hersteller nach strategischen Investoren für die Finanzierung der Serienproduktion des Modells, wobei verschiedene Optionen erwogen werden: entweder steigt ein europäischer oder amerikanischer Investor ein, falls nicht, dann eventuell ein chinesischer. Falls auch das nicht gelingt, soll das Modell auf Bestellung in Kleinserienfertigung im eigenen Produktionswerk in Kroatien produziert werden. (de)
- The DOK-ING Loox (previously known as DOK-ING XD) is a small Croatian three-seat electric city concept car created by DOK-ING. The company aimed only for limited production of 1000 units, but never obtained the funds to get the car to production. The name XD came from oddly shaped rear lights ("X" shaped) and "D" beginning letter of the company's name.(they've changed the name since then) Loox can travel over 250 km on a single charge with lithium iron phosphate batteries. The car has a low drag coefficient factor of only 0.35. Other features include 360 degree airbags, an integrated safety system for electric stability, ABS brakes and power steering. The XD4 can go from 0–100 km in 4.2 seconds. Currently, the only planned non-Croatian part will be the 32 kWh battery which can go for 200-250 kilometers with a charge time of between three and eight hours. The first prototype was completed at the beginning of 2010 and as of 2010 serial production was planned to start in 2012. DOK-ING first exhibited the car at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. DOK-ING is a privately owned Croatian company, established in the late 1991 for the production of robotic Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV's) for unexploded ordnance removal, firefighting, and underground mining.
