- Choo Mi-ae (Korean: 추미애; Hanja: 秋美愛; born 23 October 1958) is a South Korean politician who served as the Minister of Justice as well as five-term parliamentarian and 3rd leader of Democratic Party. She is the first woman to hold the post after Kang Kum-sil who was appointed by then-president Roh Moo-hyun, a political mentor of the incumbent Moon Jae-in. She is also one of handful female parliamentarians who have served five or more terms at the National Assembly and the first to do so without ever being elected through proportional representation. In 1996, she became the first woman to represent a constituency in Seoul since the Constitution was last revised as well as the first female ex-judge to be elected as a parliamentarian. She has represented the same constituency since then except for four years between 2004 and 2008. Choo unsuccessfully ran for the leadership of her party twice in 2003 and 2008. In 2016, she became the leader of Democratic Party. When Moon Jae-in got elected as the President of South Korea during her term in 2017, she became the first woman to be the leader of a ruling party. In 2018, he became the first leader of her party to complete its fixed term of two years. Additionally, she was the first female leader of her party and its first leader raised in TK region. (en)

- Choo Mi-ae (en coréen : 추미애), née le 23 octobre 1958 à Daegu en Corée du Sud, est une femme politique sud-coréenne qui occupe entre 2020 et 2021 les fonctions de ministre de la Justice. Elle est aussi parlementaire pour son cinquième mandat du Parti démocratique. Elle est la première femme à occuper ce poste après Kang Kum-sil qui a été nommée par le président de l'époque Roh, un mentor politique du sortant Moon Jae-in . Elle est également l'une des rares femmes parlementaires à avoir rempli cinq mandats ou plus à l'Assemblée nationale et la première à le faire sans jamais être élue à la représentation proportionnelle. En 1996, elle devient la première femme à représenter une circonscription à Séoul depuis la dernière révision de la Constitution, ainsi que la première femme ancienne juge à être élue parlementaire. En 2016, est nommée cheffe du Parti démocrate, elle démissionne en 2018. Lorsque Moon Jae-in est élu président de la Corée du Sud, elle est devenue la première femme à diriger un parti au pouvoir. De plus, elle a également été la première femme à diriger son parti et sa première dirigeante élevée dans la région de Daegu ainsi que son seul chef à avoir servi un mandat complet de 2 ans.
