- The Charge of the "Savoia Cavalleria" at Izbushensky was a clash between the Italian cavalry Regiment "Savoia Cavalleria" (3rd) and the Soviet 812th Rifle Regiment (304th Rifle Division), that took place on August 24, 1942, near the hamlet (khutor) of Izbushensky (Избушенский), close to the junction between the Don and Khopyor rivers. Though a minor skirmish in the theatre of operation of the Eastern Front, the Izbushensky charge had great propaganda resonance in Italy and it is still remembered as one of the last significant cavalry charges in history. - La carica di Isbuscenskij (talvolta citato anche come Isbuschenskij) è un episodio bellico avvenuto durante la campagna italiana di Russia sul fronte orientale della seconda guerra mondiale, verificatosi la mattina del 24 agosto 1942, che vide protagonista il reggimento italiano Savoia Cavalleria. Viene ricordata come l'ultima carica di cavalleria condotta da unità del Regio Esercito italiano contro reparti di truppe regolari (sebbene l'ultima carica in assoluto compiuta da reparti di cavalleria italiani ebbe luogo la sera del 17 ottobre 1942 a Poloj, in Croazia, da parte del Reggimento "Cavalleggeri di Alessandria" contro un gruppo di partigiani iugoslavi) in Russia. La carica prende il nome dalla piccola località (chutor) di (хутор Избушенский in cirillico), situata nel distretto di Serafimovičskij presso un'ansa del fiume Don, anche se in realtà il piccolo villaggio non venne coinvolto negli scontri.
