- Chan Sow Lin was one of the modern founding fathers of Kuala Lumpur. He played a role in restoring the peace in the Larut Wars. His pioneering in the ironwork industry earned him the title of the father of Chinese iron works in Malaya. He was also a philanthropist and his legacies can be seen throughout modern day Kuala Lumpur. (en)
- 陳秀連（1845年－1927年6月5日），字玉池，祖籍廣東番禺長湴村（今屬廣州市）。為馬來亞著名華僑實業家與慈善家，因在吉隆坡開設鐵廠之故，被當地華人尊稱為華人鐵廠之父，而當地英殖民政府為了紀念他的功績，在吉隆坡新街場附近地區開闢機械工業區，成為吉隆坡最早的工業區，並且將該區主要道路命名為陳秀連路（Jalan Chan Sow Lin）。陳秀連生平樂善好施，對吉隆坡一帶的公益教育事業有許多的貢獻。 1897年與陳春、陳新禧等獻出土地興建；曾任中華總商會第一任總理，其亦為吉隆坡的積善堂、、尊孔學校等發起人之一，師爺廟產業受託部第一任總理，及擔任其他鄉族會要職。 (zh)
