- El castell de Carrouges és un castell medieval del segle xiv a la Normandia (França), administrat pel centre de monuments nacionals francesos i inclòs la llista de monuments històrics de França. Destruït durant la Guerra dels Cent Anys, fou un oppidum defensiu del ducat normand de Guillem el Conqueridor. Lluís XI hi dormia i esdevingué una residència sumptuosa durant els segles de la Il·lustració. (ca)
- Das Schloss Carrouges (französisch Château de Carrouges) ist ein Wasserschloss im französischen Département Orne. Die Anlage steht im Tal des Udon südlich des Ortes Carrouges und ist eines der größten Schlösser der Normandie. Gemeinsam mit seinem Park ist es seit dem 6. Dezember 1927 als Monument historique denkmalgeschützt. Eine Vorgängeranlage zur Sicherung der Grenze des Herzogtums Normandie zum benachbarten Maine wurde zwischen dem 14. Jahrhundert und Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts durch den heutigen Komplex ersetzt. Dabei wurde zuerst ein von einer Ringmauer umgebener Donjon im 15. Jahrhundert durch einen Wohnbau (Logis) erweitert und diese Bauten in der zweiten Hälfte des 16. Jahrhunderts um zwei weitere Flügel ergänzt. Das Schloss ist somit das Ergebnis diverser Umbauten und Veränderungen in verschiedenen Epochen, sein Äußeres bietet trotzdem ein erstaunlich einheitliches Bild. Durch Heirat einer Erbtochter gelangte die Anlage 1438 an die Familie Blosset und von dieser ebenfalls durch Heirat 1540 an die Familie Le Veneur. Diese blieb fast 400 Jahre lang Eigentümerin, ehe sie das Schloss mit einem Großteil des Mobiliars 1936 an den französischen Staat verkaufte. Der machte die Anlage als Museum der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich und begann mit ihrer Restaurierung, die bis heute anhält. (de)

Ĝi estas nekutima en ties kunmeto de aŭstera fortreso kun komforta rezidejo. La originaj fortikaĵoj de Carrouges estis sieĝataj kaj detruitaj de anglaj fortoj dum la Centjara milito. Post la milito, la kastelo estis rekonstruita de Jean Blosset, granda Seneskalo de Normandio, en la 15-a jarcento. En la 16-a jarcento, la familio de Le Veneur de Tillières fariĝis posedanto de la kastelo. Ĝi estis plurfoje pligrandigita ĝis la 17-a jarcento, per notindaj aldonaĵoj inkluzive de enir-kasteleto, okcidenta bastiono, kaj grandaj apartamentoj. - The Château de Carrouges is a château, dating partly from the 14th century, located in the commune of Carrouges, in the Orne department, Normandy, northern France. It is unusual in its combination of an austere fortress with a comfortable residence. The original fortifications at Carrouges were besieged and destroyed by English forces during the Hundred Years War. After the war, the château was rebuilt by Jean Blosset, grand seneschal of Normandy, in the 15th century. In the 16th century, the family of Le Veneur de Tillières came into possession of the château. It was extended several times until the 17th century, with notable additions including a gatehouse, the western bastion, and the grand apartments. The interior was remodelled in the 18th century, when the music room was built. The last Le Veneur sold the château to the French state, and from 1944 it was restored. It is now managed by the Centre des monuments nationaux and is open to the public. (en)
