- „Škola života“ (v anglickém originále „Business School“) je sedmnáctá epizoda třetí řady amerického seriálu Kancl. Premiérově byla vysílána 15. února 2007 na stanici NBC, v Česku potom 23. ledna 2010 na stanici Prima Cool. Scénář dílu napsal Brent Forrester, režie se ujal Joss Whedon. Michael Scott (Steve Carell) je pozván Ryanem Howardem, aby ve třídě podnikatelské školy promluvil o svých obchodních zkušenostech. Mnoho studentů se ho ptá na užitečnost papíru ve světě plném počítačů, proto se je Michael snaží přesvědčit, jak nezbytný papír je. V kanceláři firmy mezitím Dwight Schrute objeví netopýra a s pomocí kolegů se ho snaží chytit. Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) zneužije Dwightova strachu a předstírá, že byl netopýrem kousnut a že se nyní mění v upíra. Ohlasy kritiků na epizodu byly dobré. Brian Zoromski z uvedl, že „‚Škola života‘ předvedla to, co v dílech Kanclu funguje nejlépe“. Ocenil také Whedonův režisérský debut v tomto seriálu s tím, že jeho „režírování i smysl pro humor byly perfektně využity ve scénách, kde Jim předstírá upíra, což bylo k popukání“. Abby West z Entertainment Weekly zmínila scénu z umělecké výstavy mezi Michaelem a Pam, která je podle ní typickým příkladem, jak se v epizodě Kanclu dokáže děj na místě změnit z komedie na dech beroucí dramatické vyvrcholení. - "Business School" is the seventeenth episode of the third season of the American version of The Office, and the show's 45th overall. In the episode, Michael Scott (Steve Carell) is invited by Ryan Howard (B. J. Novak) to speak to his business school class. When many of the students question the usefulness of paper in a computerized world, Michael attempts to inform the class of how essential paper is. Meanwhile, a bat becomes trapped in the office, leading Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) on a mission to protect the employees. The episode was written by Brent Forrester, and directed by Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly creator Joss Whedon. Whedon became involved with the show due to being a friend of series creator Greg Daniels as well as series co-star Jenna Fischer. Despite Whedon's experience with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the subplot about Dwight coming to believe that Jim Halpert is a vampire was entirely coincidental. The episode aired on NBC on February 15, 2007, and was seen by an estimated 8.84 million viewers according to Nielsen Media Research. It was positively received by television critics, with several writing positively of Joss Whedon's involvement. Carell's performance was also positively received, and several critics applauded the scene in which Michael praises Pam's art. (en)
