- الصحراء الزرقاء وتعرف أيضاً بـ«الوادي الأزرق»، هي منطقة صخور وتكوينات صخرية قام فنان بلجيكي يدعى جان فيرامي بطلائها باللون الأزرق عام 1980 تخليداً لذكرى معاهدة السلام بين مصر وإسرائيل التي عُقدت في كامب ديفيد عام 1979، وتقع على بعد بضعة كيلومترات من جنوب غرب دير سانت كاترين بجنوب سيناء، وتبلغ مساحتها 14 كيلومتراً مربعاً. استلهم جان فيرامي عمله الإبداعي من لوحات الفضاء الشهيرة وقام بالتنفيذ بعد موافقة الرئيس السادات واستخدم فيها 10 أطنان من الطلاء، وتعتبر من إحدى معالم منطقة سانت كاترين ومن المناطق التي يجوبها السياح، وبالرغم من تباهت اللون نتيجة مرور السنوات إلا أنها لا تزال محتفظة بطلائها الأزرق حتى الآن. - The Blue Desert (also known as the Sinai Peace Junction) is an area of the Sinai Desert near the Saint Catherine, where a number of rocks are painted blue. This piece of art was created in 1980 when, following the signing of the 1979 Egypt–Israel peace treaty, Belgian artist visited Sinai to paint a line of peace. Verame gained the permission of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and received a grant of ten tons of paint from the United Nations. (en)
- Il deserto Blu è un'area della desertica penisola del Sinai, in prossimità del centro turistico di Dahab, dove numerose rocce sono state dipinte di colore blu. L'opera d'arte fu creata nel 1980, poco dopo il Trattato di pace israelo-egiziano del 1979, quando l'artista belga si recò nel Sinai per dipingere una linea di pace. L'artista aveva ottenuto il permesso dal presidente egiziano Anwar al-Sadat e ricevette in dono dieci tonnellate di vernice dalle Nazioni Unite. Jean Verame più tardi creò una simile installazione presso il villaggio di Tafraout, nella parte meridionale del Marocco. Le temperature nel deserto possono raggiungere valori di 36 °C. (it)
