| - Billy Reeves is a British songwriter, guitarist and producer. In the early 1990s he formed the band Congregation (not to be confused with The Congregation), releasing one album, Egham, on the Fire Records label for whom Reeves has previously worked as a public relations manager. The group never achieved much success, and Reeves went on to found the London-based indie-band theaudience in 1996, . theaudience quickly established themselves in the Camden scene of '97. They scored two top 30 hits and a top twenty eponymous album before splitting after a disastrous Glastonbury '98 performance. Reeves was often enigmatic in interviews, frequently alluding to unspecified misdemeanours in his past. Reeves signed to Sony Records with a new act in 1999. He also ran the club which provided The Darkness with their first London show. His performing career was cut short by injuries sustained in a near fatal car accident in 2001. Reeves has since reinvented himself as a travel presenter on BBC London 94.9. His travel reports are distinctive due to an eccentric and exaggerated delivery which presenter Danny Baker has compared to the late Cyril Fletcher. He has recently been seen contributing to London indie band, Friends Of The Bride, who released two singles on London's Young and Lost Club label before releasing 'You Can't Take Him Anywhere' (a split 7" with Manchester electro outfit, Modernaire) on Brainlove Records in 2008.
