- معركة الكفر هي اشتباك عسكري بين الجيش الفرنسي بقيادة الكابتن جابريل نورماند، وقوات الدروز والبدو المحلية بقيادة سلطان الأطرش، ووقعت في 22 يوليو 1925. جرت أحداثها في مخيم الكفر، في جنوب سوريا (جبل الدروز). وانتهت المعركة بهزيمة الفرنسيين، الذين تعرضوا لكمين من قبل قوات سلطان. واستطاع سلطان الانتصار على الفرنسيين بفضل الدعم الذي تقاه من قبل الدروز وبحلول نهاية يوليو، سيطرت قواته على كامل الجبل. وقد عجلت المعركة من اندلاع الثورة السورية الكبرى. - The Battle of al-Kafr was a military engagement between a French Army column commanded by Captain Gabriel Normand and the local Druze and Bedouin forces of Sultan al-Atrash on 22 July 1925. It occurred at Normand's encampment at the village of al-Kafr, in the southern Syrian region of Jabal al-Druze. The battle was a rout for the French, who were ambushed by Sultan's forces. Sultan's victory prompted an upswing of support for him by the Druze and by the end of July, his forces controlled Jabal al-Druze. The battle precipitated the countrywide Great Syrian Revolt. (en)
- La bataille d'al-kaur se déroula entre les troupes françaises de l'Armée du Levant (colonne du capitaine Gabriel Normand) et les rebelles druzes et bédouins du sultan al-Atrash, le 22 juillet 1925 pendant la grande révolte syrienne. Le combat eut lieu au campement de la colonne Normand, dans le village d'al-Kafr, dans le sud de la région Syrienne de Jabal al-Druze. La bataille fut une déroute pour les soldats français, pris en embuscade par les forces du sultan. La victoire du sultan lui permit de lancer la rébellion des druzes et, dès la fin juillet, de contrôler Jabal al-Druze. Cette bataille fut le lancement décisif de la grande révolte syrienne. (fr)
