- La Batalla de Sarrin, entre els mesos de juny i juliol del 2015, va ser una operació militar duta a terme al Nord-Est de la Governació d'Alep en el context de la Guerra Civil siriana. Les mílies kurdes de l'YPG juntament amb les forces de l'exèrcit sirià lliure van expulsar les forces de l'autoanomenat Estat Islàmic de la vila de Sarrin i el seu rerepaís més immediat. Gairebé dos mesos després d'una ofensiva prèvia, combatents de l'YPG van remprendre les accions armades a Sarrin el 18 de juny del 2015. El dia 1 de juliol van llançar una ofensiva a gran escala després de la . El 4 de juliol la població de Sarrin i el poble de Khirbat al-Burj, al Nord, ja estaven assetjats per forces de l'exèrcit sirià lliure i l'YPG. El 12 de juliol, després de rebre reforços, els soldats de l'Estat Islàmic van aconseguir trencar parcialment el setge i establir una línia de comunicació cap a Sarrin. Tanmateix, el 24 de juliol kurds i rebels sirians van restablir el setge. El dia 27 les forces liderades per l'YPG van capturar definitivament la vila de Sarrin juntament amb el territori del voltant incloent 25 pobles i més de 20 masies. - The Battle of Sarrin (June–July 2015) was a military operation during 2015 in the northeastern Aleppo Governorate, during the Syrian Civil War, in which the Kurdish YPG and Free Syrian Army forces captured the town of Sarrin and the surrounding region from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). Following nearly two months of a stalled earlier offensive, YPG-led fighters renewed offensive operations on Sarrin on 18 June 2015, followed by a full-fledged operation on 1 July, after ISIL's Kobanî massacre. On 4 July, the town of Sarrin was fully besieged by YPG and FSA forces, as well as the village of Khirbat al-Burj and the Sarrin Grain Silos, both located north of Sarrin. On 12 July, ISIL forces managed to break the sieges and reestablish a supply line to Sarrin, after receiving reinforcements. However, on July 24, YPG and Free Syrian Army forces reestablished the siege of Sarrin, with the sieges of the Sarrin Grain Silos and Khirbat al-Burj being fully re-established by the next day. On 27 July, YPG-led forces fully captured Sarrin and the surrounding region, including 25 surrounding villages and 20+ farmlands, and the YPG declared the end of their offensive. (en)
