- The Battle of Bloody Creek was fought on 10/21 June 1711 during Queen Anne's War. An Abenaki militia successfully ambushed British soldiers at a place that became known as Bloody Creek after the battles fought there. The creek empties into the Annapolis River at present day Carleton Corner, Nova Scotia, and was also the location of a battle in 1757. The battle was part of an orchestrated attempt by the leaders of New France to weaken the British hold on Annapolis Royal. The British had only captured the fort the previous year and they only had a very tenuous control of the area. The battle, in which the entire British force was captured or killed, emboldened the French and their native allies to blockade Annapolis Royal. Without heavy weapons, the force was unable to effectively attack the fort, and abandoned the siege when British reinforcements arrived by sea. (en)

- La battaglia di Bloody Creek del 1711 venne combattuta il 10 giugno 1711, nel corso della guerra della Regina Anna, nome con cui divenne nota la guerra di successione spagnola in America. Una milizia abenaki riuscì con successo a nascondersi ed a tendere una imboscata a un gruppo di soldati inglesi nel sito oggi noto col nome di Bloody Creek dove avvenne appunto una battaglia. Il torrente era un affluente del presso l'attuale , e fu anche luogo di una . La battaglia venne in parte orchestrata dai capi della Nuova Francia per indebolire gli inglesi ad Annapolis Royal. Gli inglesi avevano infatti catturato il forte appena l'anno precedente ed avevano solo un tenue controllo dell'area. La battaglia, nella quale l'intera forza inglese venne catturata o uccisa, permise ai nativi ed ai francesi di bloccare il porto di Annapolis Royal. Sprovvisti di armi pesanti, le forze non furono ad ogni modo di attaccare il forte ed abbandonarono l'assedio prima ancora che i rinforzi inglesi potessero arrivare via mare. (it)
