- الأم بنغال ((بالبنغالية: বাংলা মা)، بنغالا ما)) تجسيد وطني أنثى للبنغال، تم إنشاؤه أثناء النهضة البنغالية، واعتمد في وقت لاحق من قبل . وأصبحت في الشعر والأدب والأغنية الوطنية البنغلاديشية رمزاً لبنغلاديش، وتعتبر تجسيداً للجمهورية. ولاتمثل الأم بنغال الأمومة البيولوجية فحسب، ولكن من الخصائص المنسوبة إليها أيضاً - الحماية، الحب اللامتناهي، العزاء، والرعاية، وبداية ونهاية الحياة. وفي بنغلاديش الذهبية، النشيد الوطني في بنغلاديش، استخدم روبندرونات طاغور كلمة «ما» (الأم) مرات عديدة للإشارة إلى الوطن الأم أي البنغال. ورغم شعبيتها في الأغاني والقصائد الوطنية إلا أن تمثيلها المادي نادر. - Baṅgamātā (Bengali: বঙ্গমাতা), Bangla Maa (Bengali: বাংলা মা), Mother Bengal or simply বাংলা/ Bangla, is a personification of Bengal created during the Bengali Renaissance and later adopted by the Bengali nationalists. In Bangladeshi poetry, literature and patriotic song, she has become a symbol of Bangladesh, considered as a personification of the Republic. The Mother Bengal represents not only biological motherness but its attributed characteristics as well – protection, never ending love, consolation, care, the beginning and the end of life. Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, one of the greatest writer, poet and journalist of Bengal, composed an Ode to Mother Bengal called Vande Mataram around 1876 as an alternative to the British royal anthem. In Amar Sonar Bangla, the national anthem of Bangladesh, Rabindranath Tagore used the word "Maa" (Mother) numerous times to refer to the motherland, i.e. Bengal. Despite her popularity in patriotic songs and poems, her physical representations and images are rare. (en)

En la poesía, literatura y canciones patrióticas ella es un símbolo de Bangladés, considerada la personificación de la República. La Madre Bengala representa no solo una madre biológica pero también se le atribuyen ciertas características tales como: protectora, proveedora de amor, proveedora de consuelo y cuidado, y comienzo y fin de la vida. Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, un escritor, poeta y periodista brahamán ortodoxo, compuso una oda a la Madre Bengala titulada Vande Mataram en 1876, para ser entonada en vez del himno real británico. En Amar Sonar Bangla, el himno nacional de Bangladés, Rabindranath Tagore utilizó la palabra "Maa" (Madre) varias veces para referirse a la tierra nativa Bengala.
