Azerbaijan Museum is the major archaeological and historical museum in Tabriz, in the northwest part of Iran (East Azerbaijan Province). It was established in April 1958. The museum consists of three major halls, a side yard, office rooms and a library. It mostly contains objects discovered from excavations in Iranian Azerbaijan, also some artworks and sculptures of artists. Its library contains more than 2500 books, both handwritten and printed, about history, archaeology, art and Iranian culture. Apart from National Museum of Iran in Tehran, Azerbaijan Museum has the largest collection belonging to different periods of Iran's history.

Inauguré en avril 1958 sous le règne de Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, ce musée est consacré à l'histoire et à l'archéologie de la région. C'est l'un des plus importants d'Iran, concernant ces domaines. Il se trouve non loin du parc Khaqani et de la mosquée Bleue. Une dizaine de vitrines d'exposition présentent des pièces anthropologiques d'une haute signification pour l'histoire locale. Certaines pièces du musée remontent au Ve siècle av. J.-C. La numismatique est particulièrement représentée avec des pièces de différentes époques des trois derniers siècles av. J.-C. Les objets d'art islamique quant à eux s'étendent ici du Xe siècle au XVIIe siècle. L'exposition permanente expose aussi des objets rattachés à la révolution constitutionnelle. Les visiteurs trouvent également des objets d'art occidental, avec des statues de bronze et des tableaux d'artistes européens.
