- El salt de perxa masculí va ser una de les proves del programa d'atletisme disputades durant els Jocs Olímpics d'Estocolm de 1912. Aquesta va ser la cinquena vegada que es disputava aquesta competició, sent una de les 12 que s'han disputat en totes les edicions dels Jocs. La prova es va disputar entre el dimecres 10 i el dijous 11 de juliol i hi van prendre part 25 atletes d'11 nacions diferents. (ca)
- The men's pole vault was a track and field athletics event held as part of the Athletics at the 1912 Summer Olympics programme. It was the fifth appearance of the event, which is one of 12 to have been held at every Summer Olympics. The competition was held on Wednesday, July 10, 1912, and on Thursday, July 11, 1912. Twenty-five pole vaulters from eleven nations competed. NOCs could enter up to 12 athletes. It was the second straight Games in which more than 3 medals were awarded in the event. The event was won by Harry Babcock of the United States, the nation's fifth consecutive victory in the event. Fellow Americans Frank Nelson and Marc Wright tied for second and were both awarded silver; normally, this would have constituted a medal sweep. However, bronze medals were awarded to the three men tied for fourth place. This put both Canada and Sweden on the podium for the second consecutive Games and awarded the United States a total of four medals in the 1912 pole vault. (en)

Olympiasieger wurde der US-Athlet Harry Babcock. Zwei Silbermedaillen gingen an seine Landsleute Frank Nelson und Marc Wright. Obwohl zwei Teilnehmer Silbermedaillen ersprungen hatten, wurden auch die drei eigentlich gemeinsam viertplatzierten Wettbewerber mit Bronzemedaillen belohnt – ein einmaliger Vorgang bei Olympischen Spielen, dies waren der Kanadier William Halpenny, der US-Springer Frank Murphy und der Schwede Bertil Uggla. W tym czasie zawodnicy amerykańscy całkowicie dominowali nad resztą świata. Potwierdzeniem tego jest ośmiu Amerykanów na jedenastu zawodników w finale. Nie było zdecydowanego faworyta. Rekord świata należał do Marca Wrighta. Wynosił 4,02 m i został ustanowiony na wschodnich eliminacjach olimpijskich 8 czerwca 1912 roku. Konkurs wygrał Harry Babcock rezultatem 3,95 metra. Srebro przyznane dwóm zawodnikom amerykańskim - Frankowi Nelsonowi i Marcowi Wrightowi, którzy zakończyli konkurencję z wynikiem 3,85 metra.
