Αρέθας (αραβικά: الحارث αλ-Χάριθ) ήταν ο ηγέτης της χριστιανικής κοινότητας του Νατζράν στις αρχές του 6ου αιώνα, εκτελέστηκε κατά τη διάρκεια του διωγμού των χριστιανών από τον Εβραίο βασιλιά Δουνάα το 523. Είναι γνωστός από το Acta S. - Arethas or Aretas (Arabic: الحارث al-Ḥārith) was the leader of the Christian community of Najran in the early 6th century, was executed during the persecution of Christians by the Jewish king Dhu Nuwas in 523. He is known from the Acta S. Arethae (also called Martyrium sancti Arethae or Martyrium Arethae) which exists in two recensions: the earlier and more authentic, which was found by Michel Le Quien (Oriens Christianus, ii. 428) and was subsequently dated as no later than the 7th century; the later, revised by Simeon Metaphrastes, dates from the 10th century. The Ge'ez and Arabic versions of the text were published in 2006 and the Greek version in 2007. (en)

Se le conoce por el Acta S. Arethae (también llamado Martyrium sancti Arethae o Martyrium Arethae) que existe en dos versiones: la primera y más auténtica, que fue encontrada por Michel Le Quien (Oriens Christianus, ii. 428) y posteriormente fue fechada a más tardar en el siglo VII; la última versión fue revisada por Simeon Metaphrastes, data del siglo X. Las versiones ge'ez y árabe del texto se publicaron en 2006 y la versión griega en 2007. (es)

Il fut persécuté et exécuté lors de la grande campagne de persécution des chrétiens mené par le souverain du royaume juif de Himyar, Dhu Nuwas en 523. Il est notamment connu pour l'Acta S. Arethae (aussi appelé Martyrium sancti Arethae ou Martyrium Arethae) qui existe dans deux recensions : la première et plus authentique, qui fut trouvée par Michel Le Quien (Oriens Christianus, II, 428) et datée du VIIe siècle ; et la seconde, revue par Syméon Métaphraste, et datant du Xe siècle. Les versions arabe et guèze des textes furent publiées en 2006 et la version grecque en 2007. (fr)
