- Ο Αρκέσιος ή (Τ)αρκέσιος ήταν Ίωνας αρχιτέκτονας που τοποθετείται στον χρονικά στον 3ο ΠΚΕ αι.. Αναφέρεται σε εδάφιο του Βιτρούβιου και θεωρείται ότι το Τ του ονόματός του αφομοιώθηκε στο σχετικό χειρόγραφο από την προηγούμενη λέξη negavit. Φέρεται ότι εργάστηκε στις Τράλλεις και τού αποδίδεται η εκεί κατασκευή ναού του Ασκληπιού. Σύμφωνα με τον Βιτρούβιο φέρεται ότι εγραψε πραγματεία, θεωρώντας τον δωρικό ρυθμό ακατάλληλο. Πιθανώς ταυτίζεται με τον Αργίλιο ή Αργήλιο, όνομα με σχετική ομοιότητα στον σχετικό κατάλογο που παραθέτει ο Βιτρούβιος Ιώνων αρχιτεκτόνων που έγραψαν πραγματείες για διάφορα αρχιτεκτονικά θέματα (Vitruvius, vii praef. 12). Συνδέεται με τους επίσης Ίωνες αρχιτέκτονες Πυθέο και Ερμογένη, ομοϊδεάτες του σε σχέση με τις αντιλήψεις του για τον δωρικό ρυθμό (el)
- Arcesius or (T)arcesius was an Ionian architect who worked in Ionia during the 3rd century BCE. He is mentioned in a passage of Vitruvius and it is considered that the T of his name was assimilated in the relevant manuscript from the previous word negavit. He allegedly worked in Tralles and was assigned the Temple of Asclepius there. Vitruvius (vi. 3. 1) mentions him in association with the Ionian architects Pythios and Hermogenes for writing treatises criticizing the Doric order for being "faulty" and "inharmonious." He is probably the same as Argelius, a name similar in the relative list given by Vitruvius of Ionian architects who wrote treatises on various architectural topics (Vitruvius, vii praef. 12). (en)
