- Ana Bailão (/baɪˈlaʊ/, Portuguese: [ˈɐnɐ βɐjˈlɐ̃w]; born August 10, 1976) is a Canadian politician who served as the deputy mayor of Toronto representing Toronto and East York from 2017 to 2022. She has also represented Ward 9 Davenport on the Toronto City Council from 2010 until 2022. Bailão was first elected to Toronto City Council in the 2010 municipal council election, representing Davenport. She was subsequently re-elected in 2014, and again when the Ford government readjusted the ward boundaries during the 2018 municipal election in the new Ward 9 Davenport, an amalgamation of her previous ward 18 (Davenport) and ward 17 (Davenport) to the north. In 2018, she won her ward with over 80 per cent of the vote share, the largest margin for any councillor. On council, Bailão sat on the Executive Committee, and served as chair of the Planning and Housing Committee. She worked extensively on housing issues, and her deputy mayor portfolio included responsibility for housing. (en)
