- عمود وهي منطقة تاريخية تقع في في ضواحي مدينة بورمه في اقليم أودل شمال غرب الصومال تم تدميرها على يد القوات الامهارية الغازية، اسم عمود معناه ( الرمل ) . في عام 1500 قامت القوات الامهارية بمهاجمة مدينة عمود التي كان يسكنها وقامت بتدمير مايزيد على 50,000 منزل في تلك المنطقة مما حدا أهلها إلى الهجرة إلى مدينة زيلع . اليوم تعتبر عمود من أشهر المناطق في الصومال حيث توجد فيها جامعة عمود . Named after its patron Saint Amud it was a center of activity during the Golden Age of the Adal Kingdom. L'antica città contiene numerosi luoghi di pellegrinaggio relativi a santi somali, i più famosi dei quali sono san Sau, san Amud e san Sharlagamadi. Nelle ricerche condotte in questa zona, lo storico fece notare che i siti il cui nome conteneva il prefisso Aw (come ad esempio Aw Bare) rappresentavano l'ultima residenza di un santo locale. (it)
