- الشاعر علي الجلاوي شاعر بحريني معاصر ولد بمدينة المنامة 1975م، تميز شعره بالثورية في أول حياته ثم أخذ المنحى الإنساني. يعيش في البحرين ومن أشهر مؤلفاته ديوان (دلمونيات)،بدأ يكتب الشعر في سن الرابعة عشرة، اعتقل لأول مرة في سن السابعة عشرعن قصيدة انتقد فيها الوضع القائم في البحرين، ثم اعتقل مرة أخرى في الأحداث الحقوقية التي عصفت بالبحرين منذ عام 1995 حتى العام 1998م. - Ali Al Jallawi (in Arabic علي الجلاوي born in 1975 in Manama, Bahrain) is a poet, researcher, and writer. After two periods of imprisonment for writing poetry critical of the political regime in Bahrain, Al Jallawi has gone on to publish seven volumes of his work, most recently Tashta’il karazat nahd, 2008. He has written books on the Baháʼí and Jewish communities in Bahrain, and presented his poetry at dozens of literary festivals both in the Arab world and elsewhere. In Manama, he ran a research center dedicated to raising awareness of Bahrain's minority communities. However, during the Bahraini uprising, he fled the country to avoid further imprisonment. The PEN committee organized a literary fellowship in Weimar for him to save him a lengthy application for political asylum in Germany. By May 2012, he was still living in Germany, now as a fellow of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin. He is currently working on a novel titled Yadallah's Shoes. (en)
- Ali al-Dschalawi (arabisch علي الجلاوي ʿAlī al-Dschalāwī, DMG ʿAlī al-Ǧalāwī; * 16. April 1975 in Manama, Bahrain) ist ein bahrainischer Poet. Seine Leidenschaft für die Poesie entdeckte al-Dschalawi bereits im Alter von vierzehn Jahren. Seine frühen Werke waren geprägt von seinen revolutionären und politischen Überzeugungen, für die er im Alter von siebzehn Jahren verhaftet wurde, nachdem er in einem seiner Gedichte das politische Regime Bahrains kritisiert hatte. Im Jahre 1995 wurde er erneut verhaftet und für drei Jahre inhaftiert. Während seiner Haft widmete Ali al-Dschalawi der Philosophie viel Zeit und unterrichtete sich selbst in breitgefächerten Kenntnissen. Seine radikalen religiösen und politischen Überzeugungen wichen und entwickelten sich zu intellektueller Offenheit. Weiterhin strebt al-Dschalawi nach einem neuen und gerechten politischen System für Bahrain. Seine gegenwärtigen poetischen Werke beschäftigen sich mit menschlichen und humanistischen Aspekten. Besonders bekannt ist Ali al-Dschalawi für sein Gedicht mit dem Titel Dilmuniyyat. Seit 2011 lebt al-Dschalawi in Deutschland, hauptsächlich in Berlin, wo er neben der neben dem Schreiben poetischer Werke ein Forschungszentrum betreibt, das sich den von Seiten der Regierung Bahrains unbeachteten ethnischen Minderheiten in Bahrain widmet. Ses premiers œuvres étaient caractérisés par des idées révolutionnaires et politiques, et il était arrêté à l'âge de dix-sept ans à cause d’un poème dans lequel il a critiqué le régime politique à Bahreïn. Il était arrêté encore une fois en 1995 et était emprisonné jusqu'à 1998. Pendant des années en prison, Al Jallawi a beaucoup lu et s’était instruit de beaucoup de sujets. Sa position religieuse et politique rigide était changée à une passion pour des idées et la franchise intellectuelle, bien qu'il reste engagé à réaliser un régime politique équitable a Bahreïn. Plus récemment sa poésie a traité les sujets philosophiques et humains; son travail le plus connu est Dilmuniyat (Dilmun était le nom d'une civilisation bahreïnienne ancienne). Ali Saleh Al-Jallawi, meglio noto come Ali Al Jallawi, ha partecipato a vari festival e a diversi recital di poesie in Gran Bretagna, Siria, Kuwait, Giordania e Bahrain. Le sue critiche al governo del Bahrein lo hanno portato in prigione tra il 1995 e il 1998. Inizia a scrivere poesie già all'età di 14 anni. In questa periodo le sue composizioni sono caratterizzate dal trattamento della rivoluzione e degli assi politici come primari. A causa, appunto, di un poema in cui ha criticato il regime politico del suo paese viene arrestato. Durante il periodo in cui era detenuto, Al Jallawi, lesse e si istruì su vari argomenti. La sua rigida posizione nei confronti della religione e della politica lascia così il posto a un'intensa apertura intellettuale, sebbene sia ampiamente impegnato a raggiungere un sistema politico più giusto nel suo paese. La sua poesia più recente si occupa di argomenti orientati alla filosofia e all'essere umano. Il suo lavoro più noto è il libro di poesie Dilmuniyat (Dilmun era il nome di un'antica civiltà del Bahrain).
