- Additive manufacturing file format (AMF) is an open standard for describing objects for additive manufacturing processes such as 3D printing. The official ISO/ASTM 52915:2016 standard is an XML-based format designed to allow any computer-aided design software to describe the shape and composition of any 3D object to be fabricated on any 3D printer via a computer-aided manufacturing software. Unlike its predecessor STL format, AMF has native support for color, materials, lattices, and constellations. (en)
- Additive Manufacturing File Format (AMF)は、3Dプリンティングとも呼ばれる積層造形プロセスのためのファイルフォーマットで、 2013年にISO（国際標準化機構）と、ASTM（アメリカ工業規格会）という２つの標準化団体によるジョイントスタンダードとなった。XMLで記述されており、どのようなコンピュータでも一般的に読み書きできる。過去約30年にわたってデファクトスタンダードとなってきたSTLフォーマットが抱える欠点や不足を根本的に解決するため、色、材料、内部構造、部品の配置、作者や著作情報などのメタデータといった、現代の3Dプリンティングに必要とされる情報や、3Dデータの正しい流通に必要とされる情報を網羅している。STLからAMFへの変換ツールも公開されており、SolidWorks、NetFabbをはじめとした3Dモデリングソフトでの対応も徐々に進められている。 (ja)
