- الحسين بن روح بن أبي بحر النوبختي ويُكنّى بأبي القاسم، هو السفير الثالث للإمام المهدي (الإمام الثاني عشر عند الشيعة الإمامية) في زمن الغيبة الصغرى، خلف فيها الشيخ أبي جعفر محمد بن عثمان العَمري. استمرت فترة نيابته حدود الإحدى وعشرين سنة كان يحظى فيها باحترام الخاصة والعامة، كما كان فاضلاً ومن أوثق الناس. عمل بالتقية فجارى فيها محيطه وجلب بها قلوب الكثيرين. توفي سنة 326 للهجرة. - Abu al-Qasim al-Husayn ibn Ruh Nawbakhti (Arabic: أَبُو ٱلْقَاسِم ٱلْحُسَيْن ٱبْن رُوح ٱلنَّوْبَخْتِيّ, ʾAbū al-Qāsim al-Ḥusayn ibn Rūḥ an-Nawbakhtīy) was the third of the Four Deputies, who are believed by the Twelvers to have successively represented their Hidden Imam, Muhammad al-Mahdi, during his Minor Occultation (874–941 CE). Ibn Ruh in this role succeeded Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Uthman in 917 CE. After some twenty years in office, Ibn Run died in 937 CE and was succeeded by Abul Hasan Ali ibn Muhammad al-Samarri, the fourth and final deputy. (en)

Rûh an-Nawbakhtî (en arabe: ابوالقاسم حسین بن روح النوبختي) (mort en 326 du calendrier hégirien / 938 du calendrier julien) était le troisième représentant spécial (na’ib khas) de l’Imam al-Mahdi. Il était l’une des personnes les plus fiables et les plus proches de Muhammad b. ‘Uthmân (le deuxième représentant de l’Imam al-Mahdi). Muhammad b. ‘Uthmân, sur l’ordre de l’Imam al-Mahdi, a présenté al-Husayn b. Rûh comme son propre représentant, dans les derniers jours de sa vie, les chiites lui ont donc remis les biens. Il était le représentant spécial de l’Imam, pendant 21 ans. Il assuma cette fonction de 917 à 938. (fr)
