- Aalto Media Lab is a transdisciplinary laboratory focusing on digital design and its impact to culture and society. The Lab is part of the Department of Media at the School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Aalto University in Finland. Media Lab is a base for MA and Doctoral studies, and for research on design and production of digital culture, digital media, interaction design, games, new media art and sound and the effect they have on society. The current MA programs and majors of the Aalto Media Lab are MA in New Media, Sound in New Media and Game Design. The Lab is a coordinator and a partner in number of international research, design and development projects focusing on digital technology, art, design, media and culture. (en)
- Aalto Media Lab är tvärvetenskapligt laboratorium och studio med fokus på digital design och dess inverkan på kultur och samhälle. Labbet är en del av Institutionen för medier vid Aalto-universitetets högskola för konst, design och arkitektur in Finland. Media Lab är en plattform för magister och doktorandstudier, och för forskning om design och produktion av digital kultur, digital media, interaktionsdesign, mediakonst och den effekt de har på samhället. Labbet är en samordnare och partner i ett antal internationella forsknings-, design- och utvecklingsprojekt med fokus på digital teknik, konst, design, media och kultur. Media Lab grundades 1993. Det första MA-programmet startades 1994 och den första forskargruppen samlades 1996. Rören till Media Lab är i den tidiga skandinaviska media konst, demoscenen, spel design, hacker kultur och deltagande design samhällen. Sedan bildandet Media Lab varit en del av en aktiv digital kultur scene i Helsingfors och dess omgivningar. (sv)
