- The 2020 Liberal Democrats leadership election was held in August 2020, after Jo Swinson, the previous leader of the Liberal Democrats, lost her seat in the 2019 general election. It was initially set to be held in July 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was delayed by six weeks, having been at first postponed until May 2021. Candidates including Wera Hobhouse and Christine Jardine initially declared their intention to stand but later withdrew. By 9 July, the date nominations officially closed, the only candidates were Ed Davey and Layla Moran. Davey was announced as the winner on 27 August with 63.5% of the vote. (en)
- L'élection à la direction des Libéraux-démocrates de 2020 a eu lieu du 30 juillet au 27 août 2020, pour élire le nouveau chef de file du parti, après la défaite personnelle de Jo Swinson dans sa circonscription lors des élections générales de 2019. Pour diriger le parti, il faut impérativement être député comme l'exige les statuts du parti, or la condition n'est plus remplie pour Jo Swinson. Edward Davey et Mark Pack dirigent par intérim le parti jusqu'à l'élection d'un nouveau dirigeant. L'élection a été retardée en raison de la pandémie de Covid-19. Initialement prévu pour juillet, elle est reporté en mai 2021 avant de se tenir finalement en août 2020. C'est Edward Davey qui sort vainqueur de la consultation face à Layla Moran. (fr)
