- The 2016 Auto GP Formula Open was the seventh and final year of the Auto GP, and the seventeenth season of the former Euroseries 3000. The championship was due to on 9 April at Misano and should have finished on 16 October in Mugello after six double-header rounds. For the first round, the championship was open to all the single-seaters from 2 to 4 liters, such as Formula One, GP2, World Series, International Formula 3000, Formula Masters and Formula 3 cars. After the first round, Auto GP merged with the BOSS GP Series due to a number of teams and drivers moving over. (en)
- Die Auto-GP-Saison 2016 war die 17. und bislang letzte Saison der europäischen Rennserie, die 1999 erstmals als italienische Formel-3000-Meisterschaft ausgetragen wurde und seit 2010 die Bezeichnung Auto GP trägt. Der Verlauf der Saison war von Umstrukturierungen und Umbrüchen geprägt. Anfänglich wurde die Saison als eigenständige Rennserie ausgetragen. Nachdem das Starterfeld allerdings beim Auftaktrennen – wie schon im Vorjahr – sehr schwach besetzt gewesen war, gab der Organisator die selbständige Durchführung der Serie auf. - La stagione 2015 dell'Auto GP , ufficialmente Auto GP Formula Open, è stata la settima edizione del campionato ed è iniziata il 7 maggio con un weekend di gare sul Circuito di Adria, e si è conclusa, dopo altri 5 doppi appuntamenti, il 9 ottobre, con due gare sul circuito di Imola. La ridenominazione del campionato deriva dal fatto che, da questa stagione, esso è aperto a tutte le vetture sportive a ruote scoperte, con cilindrata compresa tra i 2000 e i 4000 cm³. In corso di stagione, dopo il primo appuntamento ad Adria, le vetture dell'Auto GP passano a disputare le gare del campionato BOSS GP, partecipando anche alle classifiche di tale campionato. Rimane comunque stilata una classifica dedicata ai soli piloti e team dell'Auto GP. Il campionato è stato vinto dal pilota messicano Luis Michael Dörrbecker, mentre il titolo tra le scuderie è andato all'italiana Torino Squadra Corse. (it)
