Jednalo se o 30. ročník Světového poháru družstev a konal se v Düsseldorfu v Německu od 18. května do 24. května 2008. Obhájcem titulu byla Argentina, ale nepodařilo se jí postoupit ze skupinové fáze. Švédsko porazilo ve finále Rusko 2 : 1 a získalo čtvrtý titul. (cs)

It took place at the Rochusclub in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 18 May through 24 May 2008. Argentina were the defending champions but they failed to advance beyond the group stage.Sweden defeated Russia in the final, by two rubbers to one for their fourth title. Auflage des World Team Cups, der in diesem Jahr Bestandteil der International Series der ATP Tour war. Die Veranstaltung wurde im Düsseldorfer Rochusclub vom 18. bis zum 24. Mai 2008 ausgetragen. In derselben Woche fanden in Pörtschach die Hypo Group Tennis International und in Casablanca der Grand Prix Hassan II statt, die genau wie der World Team Cup zur International Series gehörten. Traditionell fand der World Team Cup in der Woche vor den French Open statt. Titelverteidiger Argentinien schied bereits in der Gruppenphase aus. Die schwedische Mannschaft besiegte Russland im Finale mit 2:1 und sicherte sich den dritten Titelgewinn in Düsseldorf. Es war der erste Titelgewinn Schwedens seit 1995. Insgesamt nahmen acht Mannschaften teil. Aus zwei Vierergruppen zogen jeweils die Gruppenersten ins Finale ein und traten gegeneinander an. Bei Punktgleichstand zählte der direkt Vergleich. (de)

Pula nagród wyniosła 1 500 000 euro. W turnieju wystąpiło osiem ekip. Siedem najlepszych reprezentacji narodowych na podstawie rankingu na zakończenie 2007 roku uwzględniającym dwóch najlepszych zawodników i jedna z dziką kartą. W tegorocznej edycji wzięły udział: Stany Zjednoczone, Hiszpania, Rosja, Argentyna, Niemcy, Włochy i Szwecja. Stawkę uzupełniły dzięki dzikiej karcie, Czechy.
