Le taux de participation est de 58,9 % avec 17 576 714 votants pour un corps électoral de 29 864 969 personnes. 77,6 % des votants ont répondu favorablement à la question posée soit 13 514 872 personnes. 22,6 % des votants n'ont pas souhaité cette adhésion soit 3 935 655 personnes. À la suite de ce résultat, la Pologne signe le traité d'Athènes en 2003 et intègre l'Union européenne le 1er mai 2004, lors du cinquième élargissement de l'Union européenne. (fr)
