Parliamentary elections were held in Greece on 20 November 1977. After Prime Minister Constantine Karamanlis called for early elections, his New Democracy party suffered a significant loss of power. However, Karamanlis managed to secure an absolute majority in the Parliament. The big surprise was the success of PASOK, whose socialistic rhetoric remained radical. Because of PASOK's success, the Centrists (Union of the Democratic Centre, ΕDIK, former Center Union - New Forces) led again by Georgios Mavros lost half of their power. As a result, Andreas Papandreou, PASOK's leader, became a prominent figure in Greek politics. The Communists (Communist Party of Greece) and the Nationalists managed to amplify their support.

Sie wurde erneut von Konstantinos Karamanlis und seiner Mitte-rechts-Partei Nea Dimokratia (ND; Neue Demokratie) gewonnen. Die in der Parlamentswahl 1974 gewonnene absolute Mehrheit der Stimmen wurde nicht mehr erreicht. Nach der Parlamentswahl bildete Konstantinos Karamanlis eine Regierung mit ihm als Ministerpräsident an der Spitze. Die Parlamentswahl fand nach dem verstärkten Verhältniswahlrecht statt. Hierbei erhielt die nach Stimmenanteilen stärkste Partei mehr Sitze im Parlament als ihr durch den Stimmenanteil zufallen würde. Die Wahlen wurden unter der Wahlpflicht durchgeführt.   • Las elecciones parlamentarias de Grecia de 1977, segundas desde la democratización del país, tuvieron lugar el 20 de noviembre para renovar el Consejo de los Helenos.​ Fueron convocadas casi un año antes de lo previsto por petición del primer ministro Constantinos Karamanlís, luego de negociarlo con los líderes políticos de los demás partidos. El partido gobernante Nueva Democracia (ND) ganó las elecciones por amplio margen y revalidó su mayoría absoluta con el 41.8% del voto popular y 171 de los 300 escaños, pero perdió la mayoría de dos tercios que había obtenido en 1974. Su declive, aunque ínfimo, se debió a la formación de dos nuevas fuerzas que ocuparon los espacios de la derecha monárquica, (EP) y el (KN). Por otro lado, el Movimiento Socialista Panhelénico (PASOK), obtuvo un muy buen resultado en comparación con las anteriores elecciones, obteniendo un 25.3% de los votos y 93 escaños, convirtiéndose además en el principal partido de la oposición. De este modo, quedó configurado el bipartidismo entre ND y el PASOK que duraría hasta junio de 2012. (es)
