- وقع دمار صفد في عام 1660 م أثناء الصراع الدرزي على السلطة في جبل لبنان، خلال عهد السلطان العثماني محمد الرابع. حيث دُمرت بلدتي صفد وطبريا القريبة، التي تضم جاليات يهودية كبيرة، في الاضطرابات. وقد عاد عدد قليل فقط من سكان صفد السابقين إلى المدينة بعد دمارها. يعتبر المؤرخ اليهودي أن تقارير عام 1662 حول دمار صفد «مبالغ فيها». وبالرغم من تعافى صفد في غضون عدة سنوات، فإن طبريا ظلت مهجورة لعقود. - The 1660 destruction of Safed occurred during the Druze power struggle in Mount Lebanon, at the time of the rule of Ottoman sultan Mehmed IV. The towns of Safed and nearby Tiberias, with substantial Jewish communities, were destroyed in the turmoil. Only a few of the former residents of Safed had returned to the town after the destruction. Gershom Scholem considers the 1662 reports about the destruction of Safed as "exaggerated". The community, however, recovered within several years, whereas Tiberias lay in waste for decades. (en)
- Zniszczenie Safedu – pogrom mieszkańców i zniszczenie miasta Safed, którego dokonali w 1660 roku druzowie. Podczas zamieszek pogromy szczególnie mocno dotknęły żydowskich mieszkańców, z których niewielu później wróciło do Safedu. (pl)
