- Équinoxe (französisch für Äquinoktium oder Tag-und-Nacht-Gleiche) ist ein instrumentales Konzeptalbum des französischen Künstlers Jean-Michel Jarre. Es umfasst den Tagesablauf eines Menschen von frühmorgens bis zum späten Abend. Das Album wurde im Dezember 1978 bei Disques Dreyfus in Frankreich bzw. bei Polydor im Rest der Welt veröffentlicht. Ähnlich aufgebaut wie das Vorgängeralbum Oxygène aus dem Jahr 1976, jedoch jetzt mehr auf Rhythmus ausgelegt, war das Album ein Erfolg, wenn auch die hohen internationalen Chartplatzierungen von Oxygène nicht erreicht werden konnten. Die Musikstücke Equinoxe Part V (1978) und Equinoxe Part IV (1979) wurden als Single ausgekoppelt; zu beiden gibt es auch Musikvideos, in denen Jarre selbst auftritt. (de)

- Équinoxe (French pronunciation: [ekinɔks], English: Equinox) is the fourth studio album by French electronic musician and composer Jean-Michel Jarre, released in December 1978 on the Dreyfus record label, licensed to Polydor Records for its worldwide distribution. The album featured two singles: "Équinoxe Part 4" and "Équinoxe Part 5", the latter having more success reaching No. 45 on the UK Singles Chart. It reached number 11 on the UK Album Chart and number 126 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The album's initial reception was rather negative in the UK, with Melody Maker and Record Mirror calling the album "slushily, pseudo-galactically crass and vapid as last year's Oxygène" and "very artificial and as a result quite emotionless." In the United States, it received generally more favorable reviews, Cashbox and The Pittsburgh Press commented that "is a complex, starkly-toned album which is surprisingly accessible" and "a moody, melodic, masterful synthesizer symphony".
