- Michele Nicoletti (born 19 November 1956, Trento) is an Italian politician and philosopher, and served as the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in 2018. He was elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies in the elections of 24–25 February 2013. He was a member of the Commission of the Twelve, an advisory body for the implementation of the Statute of Trentino-Südtirol, and was also the provincial Secretary of the Democratic Party of Trentino until 16 March 2014. On 22 January 2018, he was elected as the 31st President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, a body bringing together parliamentarians from 47 European nations to promote human rights and democracy. He is only the second Italian to hold the post. He earlier served as the leader of the Assembly's second-largest political group, the Socialist Group, and the head of the Italian parliamentary delegation to the Assembly.He is also a full professor of political philosophy at the University of Trento, in Trentino, Italy. - Michele Nicoletti (Trento, 19 novembre 1956) è un filosofo e politico italiano. Dopo la laurea in Filosofia presso l'Università di Bologna, ha proseguito le attività di ricerca presso l'Istituto Trentino di Cultura e le Università di Innsbruck e Monaco. Ricercatore in Filosofia Teoretica presso l'Università di Padova, ha poi insegnato Filosofia Politica come Professore Associato presso la stessa Università e poi, come Professore Ordinario, presso la Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia e la Scuola di Studi Internazionali dell'Università degli Studi di Trento. Nel febbraio 2013 viene eletto Deputato nelle liste del Partito Democratico e diviene membro della Commissione Affari Esteri e della Delegazione. Il 6 agosto 2014 diviene Presidente della Delegazione Italiana presso l'Assemblea Parlamentare del Consiglio d'Europa (PACE) e il 28 settembre 2015 viene eletto capogruppo del PSE all'interno della stessa Assemblea. Nel 2018 è stato Presidente dell'Assemblea parlamentare del Consiglio d'Europa (PACE). È il secondo italiano a presiedere l'Assemblea Parlamentare, dopo Giuseppe Vedovato (1972 - 1975). Nel novembre 2019 è stato eletto Presidente della Società Italiana di Filosofia Politica (SIFP). Nel dicembre 2021 esce il primo numero della Rivista Italiana di Filosofia Politica (RIFP) di cui è attualmente Editor in Chief. (it)
