Yemen is a country on the Arabian Peninsula, and the music of Yemen is primarily known abroad for a series of pan-Arab popular stars and the Yemenite Jews who became musical stars in Israel during the 20th century. In the Arab world, Yemen has long been a cultural capital. Yemen's national anthem is "United Republic", written by . UNESCO proclaimed the tradition of poetic songs of Sana'a, called al-Ghina al-San'ani, a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity on 7 November 2003.

- La musique yéménite est celle pratiquée depuis le XIVe siècle au Yémen situé aux confins de la péninsule arabique. Bien que proche de la musique arabe, elle a quelques particularités quant à sa pratique due à l'influence de la musique de l'Afrique de l'Est et de l'océan Indien. Terre d'échanges, de caravanes et de marins, le Yémen partage bien des traits musicaux avec la musique omanie et égyptienne. Récemment, de nombreux musiciens yéménites de confession juive se sont expatriés en Israël où ils sont très appréciés (comme Ofra Haza ou Talya G. A Solan). (fr)
